Nowhere Man and a Whiskey Girl: Anyone ever heard of them?
Another recent discovery was a collection of covers by Phoenix act, Nowhere Man and a Whiskey Girl. That particular collection is wonderful, featuring many obscure covers of songs by Tori Amos, Edie Brickell, among others. It's really good. Has anyone heard any original material by them?

MySpace.com - Nowhere Man and a Whiskey Girl - Bisbee, Arizona - Indie / Folk / Americana - www.myspace.com/bisbeenmwg is their myspace page. It's off the wall, minor key Alt. Country.

Yes!
This is one of my favorite bands! Thier only original CD before Just Like The Others Said was called Lung Lady EP. They are epic, and are on 727 Records. They just put out another album called Children of Fortune. It's available through 727 Record's website. The Lung Lady EP is out of print, and I was told when I begged for a replacement copy since I lost one, that I was buying the last one available. The guys at 727 are great, and may be able to hook ya up.
Out of curiosity, I lost my cover to JLTOS, and would LOOOVE if you could post a song list along with whose song it was originally! Hope that helps! If you can't come by a copy of the first EP and want it, let me know. I may be able to help you out. They MUST be heard!! xoxo KK |
