Timber Timbre
This sub-forum doesn't seem to get much attention, but I figured this band fit under the 'folk' category pretty damn well. So yes, Timber Timbre is essentially a solo project by Taylor Kirk, a signer-songwriter based in Toronto. The rattly, twangy sound and rustic lyrics are combined really well together and sometime even give spooky or dark imagery (eg/ the tracks Patron Saint Hunter, It's Only Dark).
Cedar Shakes (2005) and Medicinals (2007) are both really great albums, the latter being a bit "darker" than the former (I find anyway). MYSPACE It's Only Dark (live) Oh Messiah

This is a great band. They recently released a new album "Creep On, Creepin' On"
VARY VERY VARY GUD. ... this could also go in the alternative section where it might gets more attentions... S+A+M+P+L+E Last edited by Mr November; 06-10-2011 at 05:35 PM. |
