She did a concert for Pavorati (I butchered that one) and she played "give me one reason" with Clapton sitting in.
To me he butchered it and I was wondering if you heard it, does Claptons world beat/soft rock influence screw that song up for you?

Tracy Chapman
Unless someones beaten me to it.
Didn't know if this was the right place to put her but still, wrote wonderful songs, wonderful lyrics, wonderful chord progressions in a lot of cases and just generally constructed beautiful pieces of music. Any fans? |

Her self titled is pretty darn good. Simple pop songs with a few basic chords really, but done with care. I think I may check out the rest, any suggestions?

Tracy Chapman is from Cleveland, Ohio.
I am glad I found this thread in the search forums, Tracy is classified in the Folk, Blues, Alternative Rock, & soul genres. I think the Folk or Blues genres are the more appropiate labels that describes her style of music. YouTube - Tracy Chapman - Fast Car YouTube - Tracy Chapman - Give me one reason |

Always been a fan of her tremendous tone and vocal quality. This song to me was very touching and detailed racial inequality in a perfect manner. This song has a very haunting quality, her resonance on vocals i always found rather pleasant. |
