I have nothing against country music, except that my aunt in hillbilly Harrison, Michigan made me listen to it once, and I vomited in my new Lexus, or that all her kids who listen to that crap look like autistic bastards from the 1950, no I hate your mullets, your banjo’s and you possum stew, your sister/wife, I hate everything country but Shaiah Twains sweet ass.
Just came across this post. What a dumbass!!
I'm not from Wyomning, I live in one of the more prosperous London suburbs & I have never been in jail. I love country music. Not all of it, of course, & not only country music. But there is alot of good stuff there

i dunno - they sing about killing people, drinking, womanising and can get away with it

rappers do that and they're constantly on the firing line

some of the lyrics are more extreme than gangsta rap, but the music is contrapuntal to it in some ways, that's why I like it - e.g. Cash's Delia's Gone or Cocaine Blues

Much as I like Johnny Cash his version of "Delia's Gone" never did it for me. OK, this is a psychopath singing, but we get no idea of who he is or his motivation. And I thought the video for trhat just in bad taste.
"Cocaine Blues" on the other hand is brill. This Psycho is one you can believe & the frantic pace helps. Cash went in a fair bit for psycho lyrics- as in the guy in Folsom Prison Blues who shot a man in Reno "just to watch him die".
If you are looking for gangsta country, check out David Allan Coe. The guy is bonkers, but some of his songs are great

Have to disagree. These are simple morality tales. Tony, Delia's murderer and the narrator of Cocaine Blues, kill out of jealousy and drug-fuelled rage. They know that they have done wrong. Tony's guilty conscience supplies "the patter of Delia's feet" in his jail cell. The narrator of Folsom Prison Blues says "I know I had it coming, I know I cant be free" The're the opposite of psychopaths, who see no wrong in their actions.
Because these songs are morality tales, they always show that the murderer cannot escape the consequences of their deeds. The killer ends up in jail or on the gallows. This tradition goes back to songs such as T for Texas, Tom Dooley and Hey Joe.

One of the most brilliant OPs that I've ever seen. It's almost as though it's genetically designed to piss off everybody.
