personally, i think country music is for when your depressed and listening to punk or metal or something would send you suicidal, so you listen to some mushy gushy lone star **** by guys who sing really low with a fake accent mosta the time and like to grow their beards real long. gack. bit like Jeremy on WBEE, dunno how many of you guys are NYers in here

Couldn't have put it better myself. Writing off such a broad area of music which has been going and fleeting for a good 50-60 years (hell, maybe even longer than that) based on popular stereotypes is bad form.

Apparently, country music causes the most suicides.
Not sure how true that is. I believe it was because of the depressing content they sing about that a lot of people can relate to. I'm not a fan of country, really, but Carrie Underwood has some alright songs.

Is that so? You want musical clichés? I will give you a few I have heard.
Are you ready to Rock. Classical music sounds the same. They are only in it for the money. Hip hop is about rapping women and Gangsters. They can't play their instruments. Dance music is repetitive. Anyone can write a pop song. This is the best audience I have ever played to. They don't make music like they used to. AC/DC have the word "rock" in 27 song titles? They made a cliché a career.
