Afro cult sound system have been going for years, bringing a great genre hopping sound to the populace.
The Cat Empire are from NZ(?) and explore many genres too.

I've heard of ACSS before, but haven't heard any of their stuff. Will definitely check it out. Nothing like a good genre bending to get me excited about music!
Oh, and The Cat Empire is from Australia... fantastic stuff, though I actually think their best effort was their self-titled debut album.

Davy Spillane
Hi there,
Afro Celt features Davy Spillane quite a lot who plays the Umbrian pipes and flute. He is a great Irish musician and is worth listening to in his own right with his own band. Try his album,"A Place Among the Stones". Gordon. ps. I have just found this forum and play some Irish tunes myself but usually with a reggae back beat. It fits really well I reckon. |
