My Five represent different elements of country music
1. PATSY CLINE- Great vocalist
2. KINKY FRIEDMAN. Often witty, thought provoking songs. Nashville PR Person & commentator salled his songs "too clever for radio"
3.DOLLY PARTON one of the genres greatest songwriters
4.TAYLOR SWIFT A new young voice in country with a distinctive style
5.JOHNNY CASH A unique bass voice & a surprisingly good song writer

That's unique you placed Rascal Flatts first. They're from my home state so I'll "go with it". Gary LeVox (lead vocals), is amazing. Great band of musicians. One of Mainstreams--Mainstream bands in contemporary country music today.

I just never realized they were/are that popular. (modest)

Johnny Cash
Neil Young
Lucinda Williams
Glen Campbell
The Audreys (may be a stretch but I'm putting them in there)
