Jenny Lewis
Rules, Rabbit Fur Coat finally grew on me but I don't know if I like it as much as Rilo Kiley.

Her voice is amazing, this is something that I could listen to all night for the rest of my life. If you could upload some albums then I would love you for like forever.
Melt Your Heart is an amazing song. |

*already answered that* but since were sort of on the subject, she also sang on shes talking with Blake Sennett in the intro. Shes the female vocalist in the postal service on like all the album, and sang on The Recluse, Bloody Murderer, and Sierra on the Ugly Organ.
You said you were getting into female folk, you should check out this album if you don't already have it. Vashti Bunyan "Just Another Diamond Day" http://www.mediafire.com/?efok5zzjlgq Its amazing, sort of like a female nick drake. You should also check out Maria Taylor (Azure Ray, Now Its Overhead) she has some nice folk, she sings on some bright eyes song off the top of my head Weather Reports (Noise Floor), Nothing Gets Crossed Out (Wide Awake), Make A Plan To Love Me (Cassadaga). Theres also Joanna Newsom, you probably have heard her. Shes apprently similar to Devendra Benhart (or however you spell it) she kind of reminds me of Vashti. Get Ys if you don't have it, its good. I think i've already told you about Rosie Thomas. Theres another i've never checked out before Mary Lou Lord, elliott wrote I Figured You Out for her i've never heard her version but elliotts is good. She was a really good friend of him, i've been meaning to check her out. |

I listened to Maria Taylor just last night actually and she was really good, I'll check out the bands that she is in though.
I'm having trouble finding Joanna, I found this www.myspace.com/joannanewsommm and if that is her then it's great, sounds like a folky Yeah Yeah Yeahs (her voice atleast). Mary Lou is the ****, that's all I can say about that one. |
