Joanna Newsom
I couldn't find a thread so I decided to start one. I thought Ys. was one of the most majestic albums ever and the Milk-Eyed Mender is also quite fantastic.

I think there's something quite special about Joanna Newsom. When I first heard her music I found her voice really odd but I couldn't stop listening.
It's strange to hear her vocals change from a couple of songs on Walnut Whales to The Milk-Eyed Mender to Ys. They seem more exaggerated now that they did in the beginning. I don't think that's a bad thing, though. My favourite Joanna Newsom song is Sprout And The Bean by miles. |
