Well I was a one track Rock Fan but love Shania Twains music. Listening to her introduced me to the likes of The Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Drive by Truckers, Trick Pony (who I cant stop listening too) and many many more. I get laughed at but do I care? Do I Hell!!!

Agreed

But as far as pop country goes that album is actually pretty good. I can't think of another pop country release this year that deserves a Grammy, the right album won. Believe me I am not a fan of pop country and I would never say that this album was solid if it wasn't. After all that album has a lot more artistic merit than Honky-Tonk Badonkadonk or any of the other pop country fluff currently being pimped by mainstream country radio

I think Rascal Flatts and Dixie Chicks will open up more doors to attract fans than anyone else right now.

Rascal flats and the Chicks with ****s aren't country, they're pop. If you want to her some good country/rock check out the flying burrito brothers, Gram Parsons, Drive-By Truckers, Hank Williams III, Uncle Tupelo....

I disagree, I think the best country song is either:
Leann Womack 'I Hope You Dance' or
Bonnie Raitt 'Let's Give Up Something To Talk About'

And I would have to disagree....

They're are not the bests of anything..really..with 6 billion people in the world...there are no "bests" or "greatests" everyone has their own opinion on topics like that..which means there will never be a conclusive best list or greates list anywhere.

I enjoy a lot of the modern country music that is out there. My favorites are Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson, John Michael Montgomery, Montgomery Gentry, Alabama, Confederate Railroad, etc...

I love the old stuff too. Hank Rules! Johnny was THE MAN! Willie is freaking great!
