I enjoy a lot of the modern country music that is out there. My favorites are Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson, John Michael Montgomery, Montgomery Gentry, Alabama, Confederate Railroad, etc...
I love the old stuff too. Hank Rules! Johnny was THE MAN! Willie is freaking great!

Ok this is way out of control but I agree with oojay, most genres suck these days on a large scale because money > honestly/talent/artistry. sam Phillips may have been a capitilist money-grubber, but he knew **** when he saw it.
Most of the older is often times more authentic, least thats how we see it since all the crap's been weeded out.
