Let me tell you something about U.K music, they make the best indie and folk music atm, yeah they never had a bob dylan, a J,Cash or Woody G. but at the moment they have the best song writers and best solo artist around.

The UK produces a proportionally insanely high amount of the English world's musicians without a doubt. Consider music history and multiply the amount of great British bands by about 5 to make the population comparison to the USA...

Rolling Stones , The Animals, The Moody Blues ,Queen,
David Bowie, Kate Bush ,The Cure , Cocteau Twins ,
Massive Attack ,Coldplay, Depeche Mode, Muse ..etc

I like the Scottish band Peat & Diesel.

The Animals are good and The Cure.
