Default Spanish Music

I have no idea why I'm trying to like buold up this forum but. . anyhow,

I was wondering if any of you liked Spanish music. I mean I've looked around at some of the other forums, and you guys mention stuff like Mars Volta, and Shakira so i thought why not start a thread on Spanish music.

So here goes nothing:
Molotov (Mexican metal band)
Rosana Arbelo (spanish version of Adina Howard)
Nek (one fo the hottest Spanish guys ever.)
Mecano (I guess they're pop/rock or something. I like them a lot)
Ella Baila Solo (They're pretty ok. I hate their name though.)
Control machete (He's from some South American country I think)
Celia Cruz (Cuban/African Jazz singer. Popular for always saying azucar, which means sugar in spanish. I know some of you may have heard somehting by her and just not have known it.)

And that's about it. I don't listen to Spanish music as often as I used to so I'm kinda falling out of the scene. . .

Yep. He's Italian.

I like Reggaeton for what that's worth.

I got hooked on Shakira when she released her first album. A Mexican friend gave me a copy of her CD when it first came out and loved her sound, 'Pies Descalos', for example. Her English stuff is quite different.

Carlos Vives is also good and worth checking out.

Selena will always be my favorite.

Everyone loved Selena. She raised the bar for Latinos trying to cross over into the American music industry.
I’ll bet anything that if it weren’t for Selena, Jennifer Lopez would still be a nobody and only known for her days on In Living Color.
And while there is a lot of music in the American music industry, I think I would’ve liked Selena more if she stuck to Spanish. If she poured her heart and soul into a Spanish album the way she did for an English one, I’d probably love her more.
Shame the way she died though.

I like Shakira's stuff. Once again, I prefer her Spanish to her English.

Don't think I've ever heard of Carlos Vives. So I guess I will check him out

I don't listen to religious music too often but Joy Enriquez has a ton of spanish songs tha are pretty amazing. I'm sure if she applied her talent to songs without a religious them she'd be even more popular in America than she already is.

SOme of you may be fmailiar with her work as an actress since she did do a few cameos for the sucky show 7th Heaven

Default Spanish song resources

Hi,

I also love Spanish music and in particular Shakira's music. I have almost all of her albums and also some casettes with the videos she released. Some other day I was searching on the internet for Shakira's "Hips don't lie" lyrics and a friend of mine recommanded me to check spanishsonglyrics.org/artist/shakira.aspx.I didn't find only Shakira's song, but hundreds of other singers lyrics and videos. I'm thinking to make an entire collection of lyrics now!

Juanes

I love him. He's a Columbian born rock star.
I recently acquired his album Un Dia Normal. And it's pretty good.
From that album i love: La Historia Juan, Dia lejano, Mala gente, and Luna.

He's amazing.

His best album is probably Fijate Bien
