Know this is quite old, but I feel he needs more attention and even though I doubt many people here give him or anyone from his era much, I'll add to this thread.

What I've heard by Woody Guthrie is GREAT. I'M listening to Dust Bowl Ballads as we speak which is what brought me to adding a post here. Among my favorite musicians from his time period for sure. His influence on a lot of great Folk [and non-folk] musicians is undenibal in my opinion. One of those musicians even if you dislike him you should at least respect him.

I enjoy his music so much because he sung about his own personal struggles and things that were going on back in that time. Which adds more passion to the music, in my opinion and the fact that they normally tell a good story.

Anyway, yes Guthrie needs more respect.
