glad you liked copper kettle too, and yes, his boxer was compared unfavourably to the original at the time the album came out.

so that`s why i didn`t understand blasting`s comment.

sorry there`re no capital letters - i`ve fractured a bone in my hand and am reduced to typing with just one finger for a few days.
How did you manage to get that fracture? That sucks, bud.

I've only listened to Taking Tiger Mountain once so far...wait maybe twice. I just got that set of Brian Eno album so I'm still absorbing them...but all of his stuff has sounded good so far.

I have to say, I definitely prefer the Mirror Man versions of the songs over Strictly Personal just because I don't have to worry about production oddities throwing off my opinion of their playing. It doesn't help that my copy of Strictly Personal is worn and noisy and my copy of Mirror Man is a mint reissue, though. Probably sways my opinion just a bit...I listen to Strictly Personal as an artifact of the time and Mirror Man/Mirror Man Sessions as historical documents, or something like that. But whatever, they are all fun interpretations of the same material.

I still need a copy of Bob Dylan's official Basement Tapes album. That's the one Dylan record I'm still itchin for. Never seen a copy in nice condition, around here.
