Well I am surprised at how many Bach fans there are. My top five composers are as follows :

1. Frederic Chopin
2. Wolgang Mozart
3. Tchaikovsky
4. Bethoven
5. Grieg

There are so many to choose from.

Being a classically trained pianist I'm a sucker for the Romantics - Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin etc.

One of my favourite has to be Poulenc - French composer

very difficult... just 5? I take it we're using "classical" in the general sense then

Maybe: - Bach
- Beethoven
- Stravinsky
- Bartok
- Charles Ives

honorable mentions: Purcell, Messiaen, Domenico Scarlatti, Sibelius, Mozart, Dumitrescu, Debussy, Scelsi, Respighi, Partch... gaargh and so many more!
