My favorite composers, with my favorite pieces by them (just for kicks):
Ludwig Van Beethoven, Symphony No. 3 in E-Flat major Frederic Chopin, Prelude in E-Minor Op. 28 Sergei Rachmaninoff, Piano Concerto No. 3 in D-Minor (don't you just love those big fat chords?) Franz Liszt, Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 Edvard Greig, In The Hall Of The Mountain King - Peer Gynt Suite Not in any order really. |

in no particular order:
1. bartók (the string quartets) 2. zoltán kodály (the cello sonata, op. 8, played by rostropovich kills me every time) 3. rachmaninov (especially the sonata for cello and piano and the piano concertos) 4. mahler 5. bach (in particular the 6 cello suites) i know it says top 5 but i also adore dvořák and debussy. |
