When I was in my late teens / early twenties I liked Sibelius a lot. I still do but it’s been a while.
With Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov do you know any particular compositions that blend the romantic side with a more impressionistic feel? Recently I was listening to Chopin and I was struck by the music being more ethereal (and better) than I remember.

Difficult to name only five, I'm more into piano music, it's the intrument I play, so I'd choose:
1. Franz Liszt 2. Frédéric Chopin 3. Ludwig Van Beethoven 4. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart 5. Antonio Vivaldi Last edited by Eleanor Rigby 14; 01-09-2022 at 06:20 AM. |

I can’t think of any piano compositions by Vivaldi off the top of my head. Can you refresh my mind for me?
