Ludovico Einaudi
Wonderful contemporary minimalist compositore e pianista. I'm a sucker for simple melodies and melancholic undertones, which makes Einaudi a favorite of mine. A lot of his songs have fantastic, dramatic buildups which I tend to look for and appreciate in classical pieces - the man knows his cello accompaniments. If you're wanting an album I'd start with Divenire or Una Mattina, but I'll post some of his more popular pieces here. If you're interested in more let me know and I'll give you some more personal suggestions. (Fun Fact: A Fuoco is the first song I heard from Einaudi and it remains my favorite.) |

Oh man, Ludovico Einaudi changed my life. He is responsible for my intense love for piano music, and my intense desire to be a piano composer(though I never expect to become anything worthy of comparison).

Una Mattina is a stunning album. WWP check out Philip Glass if you haven't already. Glassworks is a good place to start.
