Default Composers/songs suggestions?

I'm looking for the kind of inspirational music you would hear in movies, any suggestions? they don't have to actually be from movies they just need to have that sort of atmosphere.

What about John Willliam's "Escape/Chase/Saying GoodBye"form the E.T soundrack. That's a piece right there.

You'd like the Halo video game music. I'd link you but I can't til I have 15 posts. Just search youtube for this exactly without quotes "halo main theme" and click the first result. Listen through it and give it a chance.

How about John Barry's 'Dances with Wolves' soundtrack?
My dad used to play this every time we drove through snow capped mountains during our annual ski trip. Even now I still recall those moments perfectly when listening to this music!

The Spirited Away soundtrack is also great, whenever I'm in a car going through a dense forest, it goes in the machine.
As is anything by Vangelis. You should try some of his stuff out.

This has to be one of the most gorgeous pieces of music I've heard in a very very long time:

Orchestral Suite from "The Inner Light" - Jay Chattaway
Based on the flute melody from Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Inner Light"
(The song itself finishes at roughly 6.30)

And if you're a Star Trek fan you'll probably love the video as well

I don't know the name of the track or the composer, but a friend of mine used a really good piece of music for their showreel. Search in Youtube for "A showreel by brothers Youniss". Again, I can't link to it as I haven't done 15 posts yet!

Matt Uelmen, he made the songs for the game Diablo but they are really cool and creepy.

His thing is using many different types of instruments and combining them in very unusual ways.

Anyway just like in the movies :P.
