Rock Opera
Rock Opera.
Thoughts on the subject? I personally enjoy it immensely. The East Village Opera Company, the only Rock Opera group I really know of, is fantastic! If you haven't tried them out, you really should. My person favorites are: The Overture from Le Nozze di Figaro Nessun dorma Che gelida manina La donna e mobile (The first song they ever tried to "rockify" :]) King of the Night (It's just a male singing the Queen of the Night's famous aria) You're Not Alone (Words added to one of Bach's cantatas!) Anyways, they are just a spectacular group. And very friendly! |
Rock Opera goes beyond Tommy by the Who? That's cool. I've heard of the East Village Opera Company but never listened, therefore never realized that they were "rock opera" :)

In general, I definitely prefer a composer's original orchestration to any sort of dumbed down version.
