Exclamation Help!!!! Trying to find great piano peices!

Hey everyone! I am going crazy out of my mind trying to find some really great piano peices. For example..... On the soundtrack of The Corpse Bride, Victor's solo and the piano duet, are so unbelievebly beautiful..... well, I guess you would say they are more or less emotional or enchanting. I have been trying to find some really great songs the really portray that emotional feeling. I would LOVE any reccomondations!!! Thank you all so much for your help.

Look for Philip Glass - Candyman. Beautiful piece.
Also Thomas Newman - Angela Undress

I agree totally! Canon in D - Pachebel is the most beautiful peice I've ever heard. Personally I prefer the version for strings and harpsichord but, it is also great on piano.

Here are a few nice pieces that aren't too hard ( I don't know your level)

"Barcarolle In G Minor" (June) from THe Seasons by Tchaikovsky

"Sicilienne" - Faure (gotta love the French composers)

Sicilienne was originally written for Flute, but if you can find a rendition for piano(took me a little while to track down), it's so beautiful and well worth the effort.

"Adagio For Strings" by Samuel Barber

This piece is so amazing. It breaks my heart everytime I hear it. It's so simple-looking on paper, and yet it's packed with so much emotion. Geez, I think i'm going to go listen to it xD

Hopefully some of these will toot your fancy. ^^

I know this may not be what you are looking for, but Game soundtracks own this one.

Almost all of the Final Fantasy songs have been arranged for piano, and there are a number of GREAT ones. Jeremy Soule is another excellent composer for piano. If you are looking for classical, then Chopin is the destination you will arrive at.

FF6 : Enchanted forest - piano collection would be a start on the FF series.
Oh and I forgot to mention Xenogears OST, that stuff is crazy beautiful. Just try to forget it is a game soundtrack...

I love Rachmaninoff's Concerto for Piano & Orquestra No.3.

It's sooo powerful, just great.

I prefer Piano Concerto 2... that intro is... wow.

Also, look up anything Debussy... he was an impressianist with quite the nack for writing incredibly beautiful pieces.

My thoughts exactly and I have to agree the in Pachebel Canon is wonderful.

Along with Debussy (the piano preludes are great) try also Poulenc.

John Ireland London Pieces are favourites of mine to play as well. Enchanting and image provoking.
