I used to think in terms of a single favorite composer. But I don't have any such thing now. But I would share these "groups":

TOP group: Beethoven, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Ravel, Hindemith, Menotti, Barber, Poulenc

SECONDARY group: Bach, Dvorak, R Strauss, Debussy, Faure, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Ives, Gershwin, Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Bernstein, Copland, John Adams

And another group, that I like because of ONE or two specific pieces: Boccherini, Bizet, Liszt, Leoncavallo, Mussorgsky, Kodaly, Dukas, Respighi, Borodin, Orff, Britten
