hello milk speaking. i make music in mixed genres. does that count as experimental? just wondering because i dont know what to lable my music as

Being experimental depends mostly on the songs themselves, not necessarily their strict labeled musical components

I make music that incorporates elements from rock, reggae, blues, hindustani, funk, metal, and what all come to mind at the time, but I wouldn't really call myself experimental. Rather an ambitious pop-rock singer songwriter

It's not defined, but I think you're here to talk about music in general not just to get feedback on your own. It wouldn't take you long to be able to post yours I think. Don't really understand the point of the rule to be honest.

If you saw all the spam that gets deleted you would, believe me
There is no set rule for what that means; if you're planning to count off the time until you can post your music then don't. The only useful rule I can give you is not to come here for feedback on your work. That being said, if you want to get to know the place then stick around!

If we get new members, we want them to engage with the community rather than simply engage with the promotion of their music, don't we? It's a good rule.

I don't know, just thinking if it's more effort than it's worth to stop that from happening. Someone comes here, posts their music, whoever is interested to listen to it does, who isn't ignores it and bob's your uncle. Dunno.

No. It gets in the way or even drowns out the worthwhile stuff, and that would actually repel both new members and all of us. After all, being small and personal and having some real quality beneath the ****show is what keeps it alive

But how does it drown worthwhile stuff if it's kept to one subforum? Also, there's that many people coming here on a daily basis to promote music? What's wrong with people?

There aren't that many. But adding the spambots and ****posts that don't break rules into the mix it becomes a serious disruption spammy days, and in any case its just not what the forum is for re: my last post
