I am also still learning about it too but as far as i know it is actually Electronic Avantgarde (as a genre) but there are these French musicians from the late 60s to early 80s that really pushed the limits of it and experimented with the genre heavily and created huge quantities of material/releases. But yeah the revival of it was the 70s. This era and the music it produced also sometimes labeled as French Cosmic. Because Music released a very nice compilation album in two volumes as well in 2013.

Your avatar reminds me of the video Charlie - Spacer Woman. (I forget the name of the animated story they used.) I've heard of L'Obsession d'Archibald by Space Art. One of my favorite albums is Equinoxe by Jean Michel Jarre. Dee D Jackson is English but her song fits into the category of Space & Robot songs. Automatic Lover is always a fun video. Le Couleur are from Canada. I guess the video for "Voyage Amoureux" is Cosmic French Music Revival, no? Les Sirènes Débrouillardes (Lower Synth Department) are one of the few French bands I know and like, they only had one release. Dee D. Jackson - Automatic Lover Charlie - Spacer Woman Le Couleur - Voyage Amoureux (2013) Les Sirènes Débrouillardes - Sirens Dreaming (Lena 2010)
