Oxbow
Oxbow play noisy postish-rock,free jazz/contemporary classical and are kickass. It's like taking Zu, and giving them a weird, black Nick Cave as a vocalist. Take a listen to their first album, F*ckfest, and be enticed.

I saw them at ATP - an intense live band. Disconcerting at times, and lots of fun too. Monstrously good drummer, and no dearth of technical ability from the other members either.
I was thankfully not in attendance at any of the shows where their frontman whipped out his dick and ejaculated over audience members. Fabled shows I'm delighted to not have been a part of. The Narcotic Story is a good record. |

OP has some great taste, all his threads are fantastic bands.
Maybe not full on Zu, but I can see some similarities, along with the Birthday Party. But they do so much on top of that and are a band totally in their own field. |

Cool band. Had "An Evil Heat" for a long time, after the Zu thing I checked out their other albums and liked them a lot as well.
