Well, he started as a hip hop artist but became totally his own beast involving slam poetry over bluesy and acoustic beats. Wondering what y'all think of him cos I dig him in a way I probably shouldn't.

I would've sworn there was already a thread about Listener but if there is, I couldn't find it.

Anyway, since they deserve a much bigger response than "coool" I'll add that Listener are pretty fucking great. I don't know if I'd call them 'experimental/avant-garde' but whatever.

They seem to have broken out of obscurity with their Wooden Heart album but have made much, much more music. I don't think I've heard all of their stuff but the Return to Struggleville album is played regularly on my devices.
