Default Necro Deathmort

Honestly, I have no idea what forum to put these guys in, so here will do.

London's Necro Deathmort... The best I can come up with to describe these guys is a bastard hybrid of dub, industrial and bleak as fuck doom. I guess there are similarities with some of Justin Broadrick's side projects to an extent, whilst Barn Owl and Terra Tenebrosa are in the same ball park, but I personally haven't heard anything quite like this. Seriously excited about this band.

This Beat is Necrotonic and Music of Bleak Origin are both good albums.

Good find man. These guys sound amazing! I'm definitely going to try and track down some of their stuff.

On a side note, it cracks me up that their name basically means "Death Deathdeath".

Music of Bleak Origin actually fries my brain.

And yeah, their name is stoopid, but at the same time fantastic

Just got it. I can't wait to give it a listen on my lengthy bus ride tonight.

I'm hoping it means that the people in the band have a goofy sense of humor as opposed to them trying to be darker than dark.

You guys are seriously in for a treat. I'll say no more, for fear of succumbing to hyperbole.

I gave Music of Bleak Origin a first listen tonight. The fact that I did so while riding the bus through a crumbling, warzone-looking neighborhood, then hiking up a huge-ass hill in an old industrial area with police lights flashing around me really enhanced the experience, but even without all that this is a really good album. As you said, Stu, it's a little hard to characterize, but what a great winter album! I'm so glad I got just as the weather's about to get really cold.

i am loading this onto my player as i type.....

very built up at this point.....i'm glad i held off writing up my top albums of 2011

in about one hour i will be driving through the snow and ice capped sierra mountains and over donor summit which is where a bunch of stupid religious people got trapped and had to resort to cannibalism to survive.....sounds like the perfect soundtrack for this drive!

i'll post my thoughts later tonight

Sounds awesome! Glad you guys chose suitable locations for your first listen, mine was in the relative warmth and comfort of my bedroom! If I could muster the courage to go and take a night walk through the local woods whilst listening to it I would, but I think I'll stick to my room

this is by far the strangest album i listened to all year

everything about it seemed to be familiar....but i seriously could not put my finger on any of them.....or if i felt i pinned down what i was hearing reminded me of....it had changed and moved on to something equally as odd

i listened to three times last night and each time liked it more

cheers stu!
