Sun Araw
Really great band. They have this psychedelic, meditative sound that often incorporates drone and world influences, creating an end product imbued with this spiritual, kind of ethereal quality.
I'm particularly fond of On Patrol, but Beach Head, Heavy Deeds and Ancient Romans are great albums too. |
He is rather brilliant! I heard him for the first time a few years ago when he played a show with Pocahaunted in Sheffield, been hooked ever since though.

FRKWYS, Volume 9 : Icon Give Thank Album by M. Geddes Gengras, Sun Araw, and The Congos Unassailable |
Been listening to that off and on the past couple years.
Good dub, and hey, The Congos! Cameron's an interesting fellow. He's been writing me lately about a project and he keeps changing his name on each email, so I have to pause to figure out who's sending them sometimes. He keeps churning out stuff. |
Tell him Occult says “Hi”
|
I will - with those words "the occult says, "Hi!" - He'll probably enjoy that.
|
ask him if he’ll do an interview for Freak Fighter
|
Very cool reminds me of neon Indians first album psychic chasms.
