Wait, wait, is that Hermann Nitsch of the Vienna Actionists? The same group that is in Sweet Movie?

Hmmm... I had no idea he composed music. Now I have to hear it. There are several clips of their 'actions' on Ubuweb. Uh-oh, crazy stuff...to say the least.

his actions were more like intense bacchanals....

whereas Otto Muehl concentrated on pain and embarrassment as artistic expression..

Yeah, those 'actions' featured on Ubuweb were of this other kind...

Crispin Hellion Glover - The Big Problem Does Not Equal The Solution. The Solution = LET IT BE.

Crispin Hellion Glover is maybe my favorite person on earth....this album was recorded in 1989 is very odd indeed....part spoken word, part music and all puzzling....literally the album itself presents a riddle....and it is the listeners job to solve it.....original pressings actually came with his phone number printed on the back and he asked listeners to call him when they felt they had solved his riddle
from the back of the album

i love this album for so many reasons....and this you all might actually enjoy it also
I already know what I'm voting for next.

I'm also familiar with that album since it came out and I agree with the others here that it's awesome. I have a mix tape I made back then with this, Cheech and Chong, Beefheart, and Van Halen. It all sits very well together.

Ubuweb is a great site for everything avant-garde...and crazy apparently . They have films, video-art, spoken word, performances, academic papers, articles, interviews, music, you name it. Very broad resource, it's all public and for educational purposes.
