Tyondai Braxton
What do you think of Tyondai Braxton, fellow music banterers? Just in case if you don't know who he is, he was in Battles (but is now out of the band), he did a split LP with Parts and Labor and has two solo albums out: Central Market and History That Has No Effect.
If you haven't heard anything by him, check out Central Market or his other solo album History... |
Any youtube vids to share would be nice if they're available.
Just as a gesture and all. Bait on the hook kind of thing. |
whoops!
here is one of his more accessible songs: |
Central Market was one of the better albums of 2009. It sounded quite a bit like the backing of old Looney Tunes cartoons... I mean that in a positive light of course. Really thematic music with good instrumentation.

well, it is up on youtube, but that stupid MSN noise cuts in, and it's pretty low quality. I might upload one later. EDIT: I'm almost there! I just need to up it onto YT |
I uploaded it. |
^^Wow, that track is amazing. Is the whole album like that? I might check it out.

I mentioned that he did a split LP with Parts And Labor and the three songs he did were amazing. He's my favourite Avant-Garde musician. (let me warn you that History That Has No Effect is a little rare but I think there's a .rar floating around the internet, but the track titles were wrong. I'll PM somebody a .zip if they'd like.) |
I upped two more songs:
This song is in two parts, BTW: These songs are more of a challenging listen. The first song is a fluttery, light track but it also shows that the guitar-pedal voice manipulations he did in Battles were always his thing. (heres a live version, if you're interested: YouTube - Tyondai Braxton - Jackpot) The next track, Disintegrating Reels, is a track that gradually builds up, so I recommend you listen to both parts. |
