You know I couldn't get into Earth. Got an album and put it in, really tried to get through it but it just seemed to Lo-Fi for drone metal. I like my dm to surround me.

Super creepy vocals. Their whole sound is like a planet being crushed to particles as it's sucked into a black hole.
I'm not exactly keen with this band, in all honesty I think they kind of sound like a refrigerator running with a guitar inside of it.

Maybe it's a little too deep for me but, I guess I shouldn't be posting in a drone metal thread..

I've tried getting into them, but in all honesty it's just so..bland.

Anyone else think Monoliths & Dimensions was very boring compared to Black One?

*raises hand*

Black One had Candlegoat, so quite obviously it's going to be awesome. I mean, the entire orchestral thing on Monoliths was cool for a bit, and then it got old. I think it's mostly because Black One had such character, and a bit of it was lost on Monoliths.

Yeah man I know what you mean. Black one for me felt like walking through a haunted forest in the dead of the night, very eerie. New album was a snooze fest for the most part.

I enjoyed Monoliths and Dimensions. I liked the apathetic vocals included with the drone. They tried something different and I liked it. When comparing it to The Black One however that album is in a league of it's own. You don't just listen to that album you experience it.

They are cool. But not the kind of stuff you can listen to all day long.

Altar with Boris pretty much trumps any work they did on their own, IMO.

It has female vocals on it... What better juxtaposition is there for the refrigerator-esque hums of the band(s)? It's a weird album; some parts were so harsh on my ears that I had to turn the volume down, and others were so solemn that you needed to turn the volume back up just to capture what was going on.

Have the volume knob ready to be viciously turned.
