Absolutely amazing reinterpretation of Gruppo d'Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza's work by electronic legends Demdike Stare. It was performed for surviving Gruppo members Ennio Morricone, Giancarlo Schiaffini, Giovanni Piazza, and Alessandro Sbordoni. This is a very special release.

Hadn't heard this in at least a couple of years. Originally recorded in 1970, a one man performance on drums, cymbals, gongs, flute, trumpet, bells, with a very brief bit of banjo at the end. Lots of drone and resonance going on with no electronic sounds or overdubbing. Has both a cool and ominous vibe running throughout the album. 10/10 |
