If so, I don't know the exact name of the chord, but I know it is some sort of Em. It is basically all open strings with fingers on A string 2nd fret and D string 4th fret.

are you sure that's not d string 5th fret? otherwise that's pretty discordant, but if that's what you're going with that's fine.

Each person makes their own song?

If so, how many instruments can we use?

you can either make your own song and say here which chord you're doing, or add part(s) to something someone else has posted. if you're starting your own, you can record as many parts as you want, it's up to you.

i might play a repeating one-note bassline into my microphone.

We'll see.

Okay, sounds awesome. I'll try my hand at one of these songs.

Actually I think he's speaking of an Em(add9) which is quite a nice chord. In fact that's one of the main chords used in Breathe (Pink Floyd). Minor 9 chords are really great.

I'm definitely taking part in this. I'm not quite sure what chord I'm going to use, but I've never attempted to make a whole track with one chord. It should be a lot of fun. I'll come up with a sketch over the next week or so.

I think that I could. But the real question is may I?

Alfred 03-31-2009 08:46 PM

I wanna do a shoegaze song so badly.

you're right, that is a great chord

Blue 03-31-2009 09:15 PM

So are you looking for us to make the whole track on our own, or is this supposed to be a collaboration on each track?

cardboard adolescent 03-31-2009 09:21 PM

i think it'd be more interesting as a collaboration, but that doesn't mean you can't record multiple parts
