Locus Abortion Technician, Hairway To Steven, Psychic Powerless, Rembrandt Pussyhorse = all awesome.

also, their first EP is one of the craziest things i've ever heard.

the rest of their stuff, I can live without.

Also, their chapter in the book 'Our Band Could Be Your Life' is the best one, they were quite the crazy bunch of people.

I miss the old Butthole Surfers, they were ****ing insane. The video for "Cherub" is disturbing, yet amusing.

yeah, kind of a bump, but i got a hold of a good amount of discography, listening to it now, and so far my favorite album is Independent Worm Saloon. and while i think they are capable of making some really good stuff, some of their songs are a bit too out there for my tastes.

even so, i'll definately keep playing their stuff, even after this is over

There's something I enjoy in all of releases but my favorite album is probably Psychic... Powerless... Another Man's Sac. Their live shows are great. You can download some some good ones off their website.

The beauty of experimental!

I have Electric Larryland and one other, not sure of the name. Have listened to them, once or twice, or yeah once. When I was looking into them the first time round I though it would be right up my alley. Didn't prick my ears unfortunately.

I started out with electriclarryland and have listened to it aLOT. I've had good trips on that one. The songs are very different, some are playful while others have a more aggressive sound at parts.

I'm listening to rembrandt pussyhorse for the first time now (thanks to the suggestions on this board) and I'm surprised to find that it is very different from what electriclarryland led me to believe. Its easy going and much more experimental sounding. I'm digging it thus far, though.

Why do you guys like rembrandt pussyhorse?

The first thing I heard by them was Pioughd, which I think is better than it gets credit for ("PSY" is pretty fantastic, IMO). The older stuff is definitely better, though. The "Jimi/Lou Reed" two-fer from their Double Live album (found on their website) is classic, unhinged Buttholes. I'd suggest Psychic...Powerless as a starting place, with LAT after that.
