A mess of guitar...
I spent a couple hours just recording over various tracks. Mostly everything is a first take, and I was honestly stoned at the time, so there's more then a lot of rough parts, but there's definitely parts I like too. Just to give you an idea of what kind of guitar I play, my biggest guitar influence by far is David Gilmour. Some of my other favorite guitarists are Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Healey, Carlos Santana, Philip Sayce, Eric Clapton, Joe Bonamassa, Robert Cray, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and George Harrison.
https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.p...bEoyWGVGa1E9PQ This is actually just an 80's-esque rock backing track. Don't get me wrong, I don't make 80's type music, but the tracks can be good just as chord progressions and atmospheres to play over. This was the first thing I did and was probably by far the messiest. There's mistakes and guitar noise everywhere, but there's some good parts in there. It is a tad long though. https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.p...Zy90d0VLSkE9PQ This is actually the same track, but the playing isn't quite as sloppy as the first time around. They're both an improv, so they're different too of course. https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.p...WkJVbS9IRGc9PQ This is a blues track, though it's not me soloing the whole time. The solos I do in the track so far start at 1:14 and 4:41. I do plan to fill in the rest of the spots, but I just haven't done it yet. I'll have more to post, but I just thought I'd start with a couple. I hope you enjoy. (I know this isn't 100% the right section, but it's just instrumental guitar, so I wasn't sure. phew... i thought i might have some competion as far as messy noisy guitar goes, not so
it's really not bad and i can definitely see the gilmour influence coming through. that first track definitely has a floyd feel to it. didn't check the 2nd one. i find the 3rd track reminds me of hendrix's red house more than anything else. i'm also not a biggest blues head out there though. |

Edit - Actually to be honest, all of it is sloppy; that generally happens when I play stoned. Last edited by Blue; 01-15-2009 at 01:01 PM. |

trust me dude, you've got NOTHING on sloppy / messy stoned playing yet haha. you're just being overcritical on yourself. if you need to point out the 'errors' then the vast majority of listeners will never notice.

Thank you for commenting. Also, I'm glad you two don't find it that messy; this is probably some of the messier stuff I do, so it's good knowing that I'm perhaps more clean then I generally thought.

it's not 100% pristine but i'd never call it messy. then again something i find with every musician i talk to is that they're generally overly critical about their own pieces (or in the rare cases infatuated with their 'absolute greatness').
