The Plastic People of the Universe

Has anyone on here ever heard of these guys? Their story is pretty interesting. They were this experimental band from Prague that started in 1968, the year that Czechoslovakia was invaded by the Soviets. They were constantly in conflict with the new government and were forced to put on shows secretly. Eventually they were made an example of and thrown in jail.

I managed to find one of their albums from the 70s. I'm still up in the air on whether I like it or not but it's definitely interesting.

I can't find any videos of them playing back in their heyday, but here's a video of them from 2007 to give you some idea of what they sound like:

I like it, funky and alien.
The violin is an incredible asset to the sound.

Thats pretty good, I still would have to listen more to get into it, but I agree, the violin is awesome in that song.

Definitely intriguing to say the least. Music is such a powerful beast and will never be tamed. Great story.
