The only problem i find is that i am never really in the mood to listen to them. They have such a dark mono tone to every song.

So Conqueror is worth a listen then it would appear?

I only have the Heartache and Silver EP's but its some good stuff. Even just on the basis of those two I've never been able to slot them easily into a genre, which I admire and from what I've heard I'd have even more trouble doing so if I listened to the rest of their material.

Conqueror is great but IMHO the Lifeline EP is even better.

I think I may have already said that in this thread.

It made it's way into my favourite albums thread so it can't be that bad... or can it? lol

My favourite is the Silver ep, but they're all great. I feel there's only so much to be done with this sound, though. Which is why, great as each release is, I don't really get excited by new Jesu releases (and tehre are a lot!)

They're also very boring live.

I feel I'm being too negative here - in summary, great band all round!

Conqueror is immense, just heavy enough but still some gorgeous layering.

Lee i think it may be easier in the long run if you just upload your entire music collection for me

The great thing is his sounds keeps changing. Heart Ache and the self-titled album almost sound like a different band from Silver and Conqueror. And with a song like "Storm Comin' On" from Lifeline he seems to be moving in yet another direction. Also, for fans of Broadrick's other work like myself, Jesu is just one facet of an incredibly diverse back catalogue.

Ever heard Godflesh's 'Love And Hate In Dub'? Very atmospheric. I'm going to have to get the whole Jesu lot methinks!

Oh hell yeah, that has some of my favorite Godflesh tracks on it. The second mix of "Almost Heaven" is absolutely amazing.

If you're looking for any of Justin Broadrick's back catalogue let me know, I have a pretty thorough Jesu and Godflesh collection as well as a couple albums from his various side projects and collaborations.
