Steve Reich

What's a good album? I have music for 18 musicians and love it to death. looking for more. Also, Philip Glass is scary sometimes.

I recommend Early Works. Steve Reich's looped voice samples are terrifying. Beefheart references Steve Reich's "Come Out" in "Moonlight on Vermont"... that piece is very dark. "Piano Phase" is awesome.

I've just discovered Different Trains myself. Gorgeous album. Music For 18 Musicians is next on my list of his work to listen to.

^^Both are very good. Music For 18 Musicians is probably his most famous work. Drumming is one of his earlier ones, pretty concise minimalism, based on one rhythm repeated until you're hypnotized. I love it. I listened to 1987. version.

Have you checked MB Minimalism Compilation? There's a lot of stuff there you'd like if you already like Steve Reich.
