I do love me some Can. If I only had to listen to twenty songs for the rest of my life, "Yoo Doo Right" from Monster Movie would probably be one of them. Jaki Liebezeit is GOD OF DRUMMING. Too bad I haven't found any good mp3's of it. Can someone give me a link?

Anyway, I like experimental music, but I've been sadly neglecting Krautrock. The only bands I listen to in any dedicated manner (not just the odd song) are Can, Faust and Amon Duul II. I need some more, definitely.

Ege Bamyasi by Can and Faust - Faust IV would be good bets.

Bloody awesome band.
That sounds so much like Porcupine Tree. It doesn't surprise me because Steven Wilson acknowledges Krautrock as huge influence.

New here but I can't believe nobody has mentioned Brainticket's Cottonwoodhill or Psychonaut yet...
Faust IV is always a good listen as is Yeti.
And A Crack in the Cosmic Egg is pretty good for what I've seen of it.
Highly recommend Cosmic Joker's as well.

Man. I love Faust — sort of this ecstatic creative frenzy. Kraftwerk has a special place in my heart —*they pretty much invented techno (though I've often wondered how much they knew about Delia Derbyshire). Tangerine Dream is also fantastic while Conrad Schnitzler was still in the band —*they're my favorite 72-minutes-of-whooshing albums. When he left and formed Kluster, a lot of good stuff came out of that, too, if you like crashing and mumbled German.

And who doesn't?

i absolutely love can but wouldn't call myself a fan of any other in the genre(kraftwerk is ok). i have tried faust, neu! and harmonia... could someone suggest particular tracks from the genre that should be heard?
