Vision Creation New Sun is a pretty great album though I think I'd have to say Pop Tatari is my favorite album by them at the moment. That was their third so I guess that was pretty early, it is pretty nuts.

Wow I just listened to Vision Creation Newsun for the first time. Amazing....

Whether you'll like it or not is another thing.

Ok, whatever gets me the music :D.

I'm not afraid of not liking it, I'm willing to give anything a try. Plus I listen to alot of "unlistenable" music.

I just wish theyd do something interesting again...

Farfisa 04-17-2009 09:26 PM

Isn't it just Boredoms? Awesome band... they remind me alot of Melt-Banana.

Pornographie Nouveau 05-13-2009 09:04 AM

I'm into their early stuff now as well as their later stuff. ACID POLISAYYY.

lucifer_sam 07-20-2009 04:18 PM

anybody else hear of Yamatsuka Eye's band Hanatarash before he was in Boredoms? it's pretty fucking abrasive, completely flips the traditional Boredoms song structure on its side. still worth checking out though.

Pornographie Nouveau 07-25-2009 04:13 PM

new album out next year

Boredoms for me transcend the Noise Rock genre, really amazing band. I'm genuinely shocked at the few people here that i've mentioned the band too who didn't like them, especially when they like things like Sonic Youth as Boredoms to me are aheavier, more interesting version of all the classic American Noise Rock bands(although I enjoy them too).
Anyone here seen them live? I can't imagine how amazing they would be.

I saw OOIOO in Tokyo. The show also featured Melt Banana. It was a short trip to Tokyo and the night before I saw an experimental artist that I think was either Merzbow or Hanatarash. I know it's insane not to know for sure but confusion has always played too big a role in my life. I also saw Mr. Eye perform as a DJ around the time of DJ Pica Pica Pica (late 90's) in Nagoya. Even though Eye was just him and two turntables and his vinyl it was by far the most shredding of all these shows. I mean, it was absolute noise violence. Getting back to my apartment after that show (ending at like 6 AM- and I had been there since about 8 PM not realizing that everyone arrives at like 1) was one of the most exhausting experiences of my life.

I'm only just started getting into this stuff. Boris' Smile does it for me, even if the Jap version's better.

There is literally no album quite like Vision Creation Newsun. I wouldn't call it the greatest album ever or anything, but it is quite honestly one of the most unique statements ever, and it truly sounds like an alien recording, free from the constraints of this world. Plus the percussion is absolutely mindblowing.

Ska Lagos Jew Sun Ra 01-19-2011 03:46 PM

I've always really liked their super-chaotic Choc Synth/Pop Tatari era stuff myself.

Thank you.

It's probably not quite as good but still fantastic- have you heard Planetary Natural Love Gas Webbin' 199999

Super ae, Vision Creation Newsun, Soul Discharge and Chocolate Synthesizer are all amazing albums. Verging on 10/10. Their other albms are good too. But those 4 are a cut above.

Ska Lagos Jew Sun Ra 01-30-2011 01:03 PM

I don't know. Pop Tatari seems to make more sense with every listen.

No, but I've noticed that "jungle" is one of the subgenres... Getting on this ASAP.
