Not only unlistenable, but unbuyable as well.

I like Merzbow once in a blue moon. It's so loud and abrasive that it drowns out all thought in your brain and sort of reboots it. Leaves it empty (shut up!) and clear. Almost like reverse meditation. But 95% of the time it's just a novelty. Something to show someone else for a kick.
And for some reason Merzbow makes me smell something. Kind of like faint decay. Don't know why.

Makes sense. Any recommendations for something like that? Doesn't have to be crazy Japanese noise music. I'm curious about exploring the phenomenon.

Dude. That's cool as ****. And it's funny cause I remember someone posting an album cover of their's where one of the guys was playing the circle game. Got to love a band that can be so bizarre and still act like five-years-olds on their own album covers.

when i went to go buy my copy they had all been sold from the source so i was dealing with independent dealers on a huge collection of limited edition....so yeah price soared
i once found a copy of SPKs first seven inch No More/Contact/Germanik at a little store in San Francisco....the asshole wanted $700 for it.....i told him i'd give him $250....and he just went off on how there are only 200 copies and many of those were destroyed and it's the only way (at the time) to here the track No More....i tried to explain that there is very little demand for it and thus the price could not be that high there is no way that record is worth $700....not even now with them being quite a bit more popular....probably not even worth what i offered i had a very similar experience that you had with the Crystal album....also there is a Psywarfare/Integrity split.....i played the the psywarfare side at low level on 78 speed (just because the record had a sticker suggesting you not do this)....i think that is the only time i felt physical pain much like a severe migraine from listening to a record...and it destroyed my speakers....i really suggest never doing that Smell & Quim's "Jesus Christ" is another album that at a loud volume makes me feel ill....fuck the cover of that album alone makes me feel ill and is probably illegal to own in the US i also have a physical reaction to the Whitehouse album "Right To Kill"....high pitches really get to me on a better note....Coil's Time Machine with a really good set of headphones creates very pleasant physical reactions |

that performance looks better than a religious experience
a few years ago i found these "hypno glasses" at a garage sale ^much like these but not home made....basically large glasses that have different red lights which create a pattern to the music played through the connected player....so in my mind a portable Dream Machine it came with all these tapes on how to control your mind to get mates, or money, or confidence etc etc....some really weird yet horrible stuff...lots of ocean sounds also i experimented with sounds ranging from punk to power electronics to minimal ambient....still put them on from time to time i also was lucky enough to have constant access to a sensory deprivation tank...which had a wonderful sound system built into it....i don't really think i can describe the experiences i had with music and the float tank.....but would say in many ways they were life altering |

i really agree with you on the glasses....was just something fun....and some of the light patterns were very interesting....and the cds that came with it on how to get women and money were often hilarious
i've viewed that video of that show three times now.....and it looks more and more amazing....please if you ever hear of something like that let me know asap....i would travel hundreds of miles to see that |
