One of my favorite bands ever, when I first heard "Poppy Rock" I felt like I had died and reincarnated.

I love what I've heard of this band, I've been digging them for some time now but a bit like Boris I never knew where to start as there is such a dauntingly HUGE back catalogue therefore I only have Starless and Bible Black Sabbath and Crystal Rainbow Pyramid Under The Stars. This seems a good place to ask for some essentials?

Well 'Pataphysical Freak Out MU!!', 'Univers Zen Ou De Zéro A Zéro', 'Absolutely Freak Out (Zap Your Mind!!)', and 'La Nòvia' are all worth seeking out I'd say. Any one of those is probably as good a place as any to start out from.

And it's absolutely true what people say about their live act. I've seen them twice now and both times they were utterly phenomenal.

Really neat music, definitely much different than what I normally listen to. For anyone that lives near Toronto, ON, they're playing with The Melting Paraiuso UFO on April 14th, at El Mocambo. =)

PS. I've been trying to listen to more of this group - anyone have any albums to recommend? Not necessarily looking for what someone would thinkis their "best", just something people like. (Okay, that didn't make sense, but hopefully you guys dig!)

I started with Space Anthem and Starless and Bible Black, both epic and completely different, uncanny masterpieces.

After listening to both of those albums (seriously, thanks for the great recommendations), I'll have to agree with the latter statements.
