Default Skullflower

Great British dark ambient band that formed in the late eighties, with a fairly fluid lineup including members of Whitehouse at one point. Dark Ambient is the easiest way to describe the genre, but really it falls somewhere between noise, psychedelia, krautrock, drone, and polka. Minus the polka bit... sorry. Fans of anything from Nurse With Wound to Faust can probably find something in here they enjoy.. it's all free improv but you know... that's what makes it ambient.

They are great to work to, the whole lack flying up and down the chromatic scale (especially the higher notes) and dark ambiance just really does it for me.

I suggest everybody download Skullflower as just music to chill to, I think there's a download floating around this site because i'm pretty sure that is where I got it. I would assume it is in the sharing thread.

I remember downloading an album off of one of Cardboards blogs, it wasn't really something i'd listen to all the time but it was pretty legit.

alright...

I just saw Skullflower live, and it was one of the most trippy and mesmerising music experiences of my life thus far. Just ferocious and beautiful. Half the audience sitting on the floor at the front, me included...close your eyes...tripping out...jesus.

Honestly this band are so ****ing good. My opinion of them has increased immeasurably over the past week, as while I enjoyed them before this week, but it was a fairly lukewarm enjoyment . Now is different. Seriously blown away by that. I've gotta get more of their stuff now.

First I have heard about them TBH. They sound like a band that I could definitely get into.
