i think critics might have 'mislead' you because it's really dificult to describe their sound,
i think especially when you're not from a scandinavian country, where this sort of sound is more familiar i guess i won't even try to describe what i like about them, because i knów i won't find the right words! it's just that feeling you get ... i simply lóve sigur rós... |

Sigur Ros is awesome! I wouldn't expect many people to appreciate the subtle beauty of their music (especially in this day and age) but to me, it doesn't get much better than Aegtis Byrjun. Svefn G Englar sounds like it was created by angels

Heard of Sigur Ros?
Sigur Ros is a band from Iceland, though they're not strictly classical, they use a lot of strings and piano. The singer has a lovely, near angelic voice. I recently introduced my grandparents (classical lovers) to one of their CD's and they love it. My point of this thread is that they told me they haven't purchased a new CD in decades and I've found something they are interested in.
