I was actually slightly underwhelmed the first time I listened to Takk, but after a while I grew to really like it. I can safely say that 'Saeglopur' is one of the best things they've ever done.

Fucking hell I'm seeing these guys live at the end of August and I can't bloody wait.

Yeah I'm always really anxious when bands like this release new albums, especially when they already have an incredible back catalogue, it's usually always going to be a disappointment. But Valtari has certainly impressed me and it's great that they have progressed their sound instead of threading back over old ground .

You lucky bastard. I've never seen them live, but I sure hope they put on a great show.

Off the Takk album, I really really love Andvari. Especially around the end of the track when it kind of plays the same thing over and over. Some would find that repetitive, but I think they were able to pull it off.

I had a chance to see them at a festival nearly five years ago but they were clashing with another band I really wanted to see so I had to give them a miss. Two of my friends went to see them though and they said they were amazing.

I haven't listened to Takk in ages but I must give it a spin soon. I used to be underwhelmed by the first four tracks on it and it used to kick in then with 'Saeglopur', but the first four tracks are pretty cool when you listen to them over and over again especially 'Hoppípolla'.

I'm assuming you've seen/heard Heima?

A bunch of tracks featured on this are "blow your mind" incredible.
