It is insanely boring to me, a lot of the music is like dead air, I regret deciding to give it another try this week.

I think Takk is one of the most up and down records I have ever listened to. You'd be hard pressed to find me a better song than Gong from anybody, but between the standouts (Gong, Saeglopur, Hoppipolla) it seems like a lot of filler relative to their work on Agaetis and ().

You're wrong, Takk is a masterpiece from start to finish. None of their other albums come close to its consistency...

This is incredibly exciting.

That sounds right up my alley. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love every single album they've released (except I haven't heard Von, sadly), but I've always been a huge fan of down-tempo, ambient, minimalist compositions. I think I'm going to love it.

Takk is my favourite album too. I don't really find myself having ups and downs when I listen to it... I enjoy all of it.

Has anyone seen the Sigur Ros docmentary Heima? It's the closest thing spiritual experience you'll have watching a movie.

Embedded is a clip from it. This concert is at night during the summer when it's daylight for 23 hours a day. It's some remote location north of the Arctic Circle.

Yeah, stylistically. The bands both get pigeonholed into "post-rock" but they share very little in common. My thing is with Sigur Ros... I can't name one band that sounds remotely like them at any point.

Of all the bands that I like but never listen to - Sigur Ros is one of my favorite.
On a side note: Some of my friends played ( ) at their wedding during the hour or so of milling about before the ceremony. It worked perfectly. Remember this when you're getting married and want cool music in the wedding, kids.
Also, I have never been able to get this video out of my mind since I saw it - The Pixies meeting Sigur Ros at their studio in Iceland. Probably the coolest workspace I have ever seen.
