I actually listened to it, but it's such a disjointed mix of instrumental-only snippets I can't really tell what the songs are going to be like.
Sounds like a lot of disco-esque stuff. Not really my thing, frankly, but I suppose he wants to do something different.

I thought he was going to do something with these two, and maybe he still is and it's not on that mixtrack, but these would be much more to my tastes.

Yeah I can see why you wouldn't dig it, I'm usually not too into techno type stuff either, but certain types get me and this was one of them. Kinda like that dude Todd Terje if you've heard him, but he's also very disco/techno so you probably wouldn't dig it. PB's mix strays from that a bit by the middle though.
I'm actually hoping that mix was its own thing, just something he put out for fun, and that the album takes a form more like what you're suggesting. I'm definitely loving that second track, "Principe Real", it's killer.

BTW, did you hear Avey Tare's "Slasher Flicks" band's album that came out earlier this year? I listened to it a few times but my reaction was "meh." It reminded me of an Avey Tare-version of PB's Tomboy, which was OK but very conventional compared to Person Pitch. So I didn't bother buying it. Can't help but wonder if these guys do better when they get together as a band. The only solo album so far that's been a real standout has been Person Pitch.
Here's the song list: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ne8...pQXzDUhzLL3-SW

Idk I really liked Down There, the one with that song "Oliver Twist" you posted, but Slasher Flicks, though I kinda liked the sound, just seemed a little too long. I only gave it one good listen though. I did love the single they had for it, "Little Fang", it's just precious. I never listened to Tomboy either, or his first album. I also don't know if there's any Deakin or Geologist albums out there, I think they have some material outside the group though. Avey Tare also has one with his wife, whose name I can't recall, that sounds interesting but I haven't given a listen. They actually have all their material, together, solo, and otherwise, listed on their website.
But I would agree that my favorite material has been AC itself, as good as Down There and Person Pitch and that PB mix are.

Yeah I liked Down There also, but I don't consider it a "standout."
I also wish he would do something more with this. I really like the oboe sample starting around the 1-minute mark. Would really be expanding his repertoire to do something with orchestrated stuff. I can easily imagine a great melody line to go with this, though I admit he probably didn't plan this as being anything than a standalone work. Quote:

EDIT: Shorter version, poor quality recording. I can't help but wonder if Deakin might end up being sort-of the George Harrison of the group, whose talents don't get realized until later in the game. Avey Tare and Panda Bear would be the John Lennon and Paul McCartney of the group, of course.
