it actually leaked this morning!
(i can probably hook anyone up if they can't find a link) really really diggin' it. the atmosphere it has throughout it is great. only thing bumming me out so far about it is the length (it's only 34 minutes) still, a great gift for my thanksgiving weekend (i'm canadian) fave tracks: laughing hieroglyphic, heather in the hospital, oliver twist, heads hammock EDIT: Lucky 1 is also soooo much better in context with the rest of the album. Seriously an awesome closer for it. |

Tomboy is officially coming out on April 19th now guys.
here's the tracklisting: You Can Count on Me Tomboy Slow Motion Surfers Hymn Last Night at the Jetty Drone Alsatian Darn Scheherezade Friendship Bracelet Afterburner Benfica my most anticipated release of 2011 (this or radiohead whenever they release something), anyone besides me still stoked!?! EDIT: It's also being now being produced/mixed by Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3. He also produced the latest MGMT album, which was pretty well received here, so I'm guessing that will excite some people. Considering I disliked the single w/ "Tomboy" and "Slow Motion", and considering both those tracks are on here... =/
I'm still hopefully that the majority of the album is less like that, and that maybe those songs will sound good in context of the album. Still quite excited. |

I'm a bit thrown off by the track order to be honest. I was almost confident You Can Count on Me would be the closer and to see that as the opener is really really weird, but maybe it'll make sense since the album version is "so different". Drone in the middle of the album is also pretty weird, hopefully it's more of an interlude now or something. Either way I'm super excited. Did you listen to the other singles clutnuckle? |

Listening to the youtube demos
You Can count on me- really sweet track. very full, cogent sound. too short Tomboy and Slow Motion- eh. not bad but didn't really hit me. maybe the final tracks will be better? surfer's hymn- live bootleg is pretty damn good but real hard to tell what the final recording will sound like. excited. last night at the jetty- again not bad at all. will finish this later. mixed feelings so far. I feel like Tomboy and Down There were the albums that Panda Bear and Avey Tare WOULD make. You know? really really good. especially compared to all of the other **** coming out today but no surprises. Haven't even finished the demos for Tomboy though so I am speaking FAR FAR FAR too early but anyone know what I mean?
