I'm listening to GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT. They are from Ireland and I'm suitably impressed. Post rock is possibly my favourite genre at the moment.

And I'm loving TWDY's s/t too. It's a lot more laid back than their YM EP, but it definitely works. The standout track for me is They Move on Tracks of Never-Ending Light, but they're all great ^_^ And browsing through the whole thread, anyone wanting to get into post-rock should check out enemyat_thesix's list, which has some excellent bands on it. A band that I don't think has yet been mentioned are Mono. If anyone ever wanted to go and see one post-rock band live, they're that band. On record, I find their music has less impact (unless turned up) but is still worth checking out. Their neo-classical collab with World's End Girlfriend is however worth getting; I don't think I've heard a more beautifully depressing record. Last edited by Frewen; 01-11-2008 at 03:44 AM. |

Whoops! -pts for observation pour moi :/
Been listening to ambient-styled post-rock along the lines of GIAA recently: Hammock, The American Dollar, Emery Reel etc Finally got 'round to listening to Joy For Eternity's album; it's not bad at all! |
